Music roster

The Mother Wolf Club is not a booking agency, we are event makers. We have had the pleasure to present high profile acts in the past including Metronomy, Easy Life, La Femme and Kae Tempest. We also pride ourselves in programming undersung superstar gems some of whom you can view below. We don't let specialising in genres limit us, instead we focus on finding artists who are undeniably authentic and undiluted in their approach and are a real experience live.

THe PETEBOX

Over 30 million Youtube views on his debut live album

THe PETEBOX is a multi award winning maverick of multi
phonic voicebox based loopworlds and beatbox performance pioneer. a THe PETEBOX live show is an immersive experience as he creates songs sound
by sound, layer by layer, reveal on reveal, loop on lo
op, one man building tracks that are as
sonically massive as any full band setup or DJ set.

His album Future Loops, is on its third pressing and
has sold over 50,000 digital copies through word of mouth alone and he has received much critical acclaim including from Brian Wilson who sang his praises for a unique cover of "I Get Around" and The Pixies posted the viral "Where Is My Mind?" video on their official website.

THe PETEBOX has performed worldwide including the major stages at festivals, such as Glastonbury, Reading/Leeds, V Fest, Bestival UK Lake of Stars, Malawi, Woodstock, Poland Rock For People, Czech as well as multiple Grand Prix.

THe PETEBOX is a show to behold which is simultaneously mesmerizing and primally speaks to the snakebrain. If you can manage to lift your jaw from the floor you're gonna wanna dance to this one!

The Tiger Lillies

'Their cult hit musical Shockheaded Peter was nominated for five Olivier Awards

The Tiger Lillies are a cult British musical trio formed in 1989 and described as the forefathers of Brechtian Punk Cabaret. 'Vagina in the sky' anyone?... That's a lyric from one of their songs not an offer, their front man Martin Jacques singing (in constant falsetto no less) about every vice known to man and beast including...bestiality, prostitution and blasphemy...which prove to be mad, bad and dangerously mirth-making matters when combined with festival frivolities.

The Independent has described The Tiger Lillies as "a provocative and avant-garde three-piece band that combines cabaret, vaudeville, music-hall and street theatre", while Tim Arthur of Time Out has given a more evocative description: "Imagine Kurt Weill conjuring up images of prewar Berlin while a falsetto vocalist screams, squeaks and squawks his way through every number like some rambling madman, and you've got the picture". As well as pre-war Berlin cabaret other influences such as gypsy and circus music, French chanson and British music hall tunes bleed through leaving us bloody happy to be able to offer this strange, strange band on our Mother Wolf Club lineups, courtesy of booking agent Tim Whitehead.

Mrs Magoo

Winner of the We Love Jungle Best DJ award.

She may have won more DJ awards than Biggy Smalls had hot dinners but that wasn't what drew us to her. It was that bass wobble and massive junglist-dnb sound that vibrates each and every audience's soul she gifts with her presence prompting them to lose their minds and find their dancing shoes. Perhaps thats what's led her from internet radio to international bookings in just a few years, recently completing her third North America tour in two years as well as hitting the major festivals circuit including performing to 10,000+ crowds at Boomtown.

As well as always been in the conversation when 'Best Jungle DJ' awards are on the table, Mrs Magoo has also appeared on all of the most prestigious Dnb radio stations and streams and is regularly rolled out back to back with pioneers like Kenny Ken and Nicky Blackmarket. She is a deck-strous mistress of her craft and is undiluted to the max when it comes to artistic expression, having us ticking all the boxes of Mother Wolf audio approval with  thematic rhythmic aplomb.

Alexander Canwell

'An amazing, eclectic project' (The notorious P.O.D podcast)

A poetic punk pirate with a hip hop soul? A loop station MC genius with a Captain Beefheart complex? A caravan living country funk-king who tours his sonic wares like a millenial steptoe?...alas all attempts to find a simile to define Alexander Canwell fall as flat as his signature flat cap, there being simply nothing else quite like him.

His live shows are simultaneously explosive and affirmingly hilarious, intense yet eccentrically charming, straight to the snake brain yet cerebrally engaging and poetical. The Mother Wolf Club couldn't resist him.

ABH Beatbox

Current no.1 UK Beatbox Champion

Regarded by many as the best beatboxer in the business this wunderkind must have wires hidden somewhere beneath his human skin because to quote Reviews Hub's on his performance at the BAC's modern production of Frankenstein he has 'superhuman vocal abilities' with 'standout performances'.

As well as being a maestro of the throat formed bass frequencies, he is also 'Kinetically hilarious' (The Stage *****) combining comedic routines with his technical proficiencies leaving audiences with their feet tapping and in stitches. A Mother Wolf Club live favourite!

The Antipoet

'My favourite poetry band' (Holly McNish)

Described by Fringe Review as 'a dazzling display of poetry, comedy and music sometimes all in the same moment' and by The Stage as 'an act at the forefront of the new movement, with material dripping in parody...with performances as memorable as they are hilarious', the antipoet are a misnomer of the highest order.

From the stages of Glastonbury to Silverstone for the Grand Prix, from Edinburgh Fringe Festival to the Minstrel Gallery of Liverpool Town hall this veteran duo of beatrantin' rhythm and views know how to throw a sonic poetry party which we at The Mother Wolf Club love to be invited and we always send them a thankyou card afterwards.

Bird Radio

Winner of 'Spirit of the Fringe Award'

Described by Asian Dub Foundation's Steve Chandra Savale as 'if J.G. Ballard had written The Wicker Man and Rick Pearson from the Evening Standard as a 'flute-toting, bass drum-beating sensation…’ we knew we wanted to work with Mikey Kirkpatrick even before we had heard him live!

To add to this the fact that he selects some of our favourite poems (such as Ted Hughes collection 'Crow') and writes soundtracks to them and he was selected as a 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival Favourite by the magazine The Student! who described him as ‘Mesmerising and mystical', Mikey is our dream made flesh for exciting audiences via the medium of music about the power of poetry.

Fringe 2019 ***** Broadway Baby, ***** Ceel.org, **** The Scotsman, and Spirit of the Fringe Award)

The People who Run the country

'Performance poetry's key revivalist' (The Metro)

Fronted by Saboteur Awards 'Spoken Word Artist of the Year 2021', Luke Wright, The people who run the country are that rare beast of a band where the lyrics can stand on their own two feet without the music. Combined with the soundtracks of guitarist and producer 'Cobbler' though they take on gargantuan proportions and loom over us  rearranging the digital chatter of our babel towers into lucid punkaramas of misanthropic pop fun.

Carl Barat described their front man Luke Wright as 'A poetic pugilist' and they pull no punches to irk out the bangers that actually say something with weight whilst still retaining the pop sensibilities to ensure their debut single Monster received BBC6 Music airplay. It was described by Poetic Justice Mag as 'a delight'. The People Who Run the Country are the perfect leftfield pop vehicle to offer to the masses the magic and majesty of the spoken word backed by tunes catchier than the Omicron.

Harry Mold

'Bursting with raw energy' (Record of the day)

Earmilk said his music ''kicks you in the head and away from the trapped mindset', perhaps that's why his have  spread from Brixton radio to Benicassim fast than you can say 'indie pop cockney prodigy.

This songwriting wunderkind has more star quality than the  Magellanic cloud galaxy fortunately you don't need to leave the earth to witness it. He is just how we like our Motherwolf Club stars to be, as down to earth as an oil rig, and Harry Molds wells are pumping sonic gold.

Runchtacular

'It's so nice to see something so original that's not s***!' (Hans Zimmer).

Frankenstein-esque brain child of resident portrait artist of the O2, Spike Zephaniah, let us introduce you to the otherworldy genius of MC Lil Runch and DJ Boggy Swizzel,  extra-terrestrial hip hop act par excellence!

All the way from...the future. Do androids dream of electric sleep? Hell no they dream of the music of these guys. Break on through to the otherside? Nay, break on through to the event horizon! Runchtacular are here askin, 'What's up with human'?!

Christian Foley

'Got some flows' (50 Cent)

A quintessential Mother Wolf Club favourite. Christian excites people about poetry, from kids in the classroom using rap in his syllabus to the crowds of major festival festivals such as Latitude and Glastonbury.

Christian is also regularly asked to appear on TV and Radio having made appearances on GMTV and ITV as well as collaborating with other major artists including John Legend and spoken word legends Kae Tempest and Raymond Antrobus he is a true, tried and tested Mother Wolf poster boy for poetry, albeit hiding inside an adidas top and reeboks.

Me Miles & I

'Smashing it across the universe with his infectious party vibes' (Chris Tofu MBE)

With an explosive energy only almost rivalled every few millenia by certain celestial supernovae it requires no interplanetary leap of the imagination as to why Me Miles and I has become a supernova of a hit on the festival scene (Glastonbury, Boomtown, I.O.W, SGP) etc as well as internationally with hundreds of shows in his sonic slipstream from Berlin to L.A, Copenhagen to Italy.

The diversity of the acts he has supported gives you and idea of the eclecticism of his DJing from Basement Jaxx to Pendulum, Faithless to Caravan Palace whether the gig is gagging for big beat or DNB, Techno or tropical jump up bass, Me Miles and I jumps up and can turn his sleight of  hand to most sonic demands of this particular star system.
